Owning a Business is the Key to Enjoying Life

The pandemic has reshaped the way we think about work and life.  For many, it revealed how much they cherished spending time with family and how important it is to achieve a work-life balance. If you’re someone who found this newfound freedom valuable, you may be wondering how to maintain it in your current job. However, for many people, the demands of their current role leave little room to even consider that possibility.

Owning a business is the Key to enjoying Life.

From my own experience, I understand this struggle.  I had a demanding Senior Management role that required constant planning, coordinating, traveling, meetings, and project implementation. There was simply no time to think about other opportunities or even explore what was out there. My job became my life.

A colleague and I often talked about escaping the grind—breaking free from the endless cycle of working for someone else. We spent hours brainstorming business ideas, knowing that we needed a “widget” to break out of the employee rut. After both working for over 20 years at a well-known global educational institution, the idea of starting something new seemed impossible. But, as the saying goes, change often comes under pressure. In our case, the pressure came in the form of a redundancy package. The company was restructuring, and we were considered too expensive.

At this point, we had no choice but to reinvent ourselves. I didn’t want to end up in another 9-to-5 job, so I chose to leverage the 20 years of experience I had gained. My colleague started a restaurant, which he expanded and thrived with. I, on the other hand, decided to dive into the education sector—a field I knew well and had a deep passion for.

I did my research and got involved with Eye Level, the number one education program in South Korea. This was a game-changer for me. Five years later, I now represent Eye Level in Australia with thriving learning centres in Sydney and Melbourne, giving me both financial freedom and a fulfilling career.

Why Choose Education?

Education is key to preparing our children for the jobs of the future. It’s a continuous journey, not a one-time decision. Focusing on education helps nurture future leaders, and it’s a deeply rewarding career if you’re passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives. The demand for educational support has never been stronger, and the industry has become a multibillion-dollar sector with endless opportunities.
